United Way 2-1-1 is a multi-lingual, comprehensive information and referral service available 24 hours a day in 170 languages. Its database contains more than 20,000 programs and services. Individuals can also call 2-1-1 for volunteer opportunities in their area.

Michigan State University Extensions provide counseling and education to homeowners facing possible foreclosure and education and training related to financial education and literacy.

Energy Conservation,  Weatherization & Payment Assistance



Weatherization Assistance Program
The Michigan Department of Human Services manages this program which provides free home energy conservation services to low-income Michigan homeowners and renters. These services reduce energy use and lower utility
bills, thus creating more self-sufficient households.

DTE offers several programs to assist customers with paying their energy bills. DTE will work with you to set up a payment plan or advise you of assistance agencies in your area.
